Afc vs Cfc | Matchday Broadcast Package

Afc vs Cfc | Matchday Broadcast Package

A complete, broadcast-style campaign for one Premier League fixture: 29 assets across Photoshop, After Effects and Cinema 4D.

Brief:

What would a complete, Sky Sports-style broadcast package look like for a single Premier League fixture? This self-initiated project reimagines Arsenal vs Chelsea as a full matchday campaign, built to the standard of live sports TV, from key art for print and social to 3D title sequences and broadcast transitions.

Idea: Every big fixture has its own identity on screen. The idea was to give each club a bold visual voice: red and gold for Arsenal, royal blue for Chelsea, and terrace chants like “Come On You Gunners” and “Come On You Blues” turned into typography. Both then come together in one Sky Sports matchday moment, with crests facing off and a Premier League lion window opening onto the action.

Process: Posters, thumbnails and backdrop patterns were designed in Photoshop. The 3D crest reveals, the hero matchday scene and a glass Sky Sports transition were built in Cinema 4D and rendered in Redshift. After Effects brought it all together with animated backdrops, typography sequences and the final edit. Every shot focused on broadcast craft: deliberate easing, multi-shot camera moves, studio lighting for depth and metallic edges, and cuts timed to an original stadium-rock soundtrack.

Outcome: 29 postable assets: 7 in Photoshop, 7 in After Effects and 15 in Cinema 4D. They include a 4K transition with alpha, ready to cut between real match footage, and a clay-to-final breakdown that shows the process behind the polish.

Role: Concept, design, 3D and animation · Tools: Cinema 4D, Redshift, After Effects, Photoshop · Year: 2026 · Type: Self-initiated concept, not affiliated with Sky Sports, the Premier League, Arsenal FC or Chelsea FC. Key Art & Social: Set on a deep Premier League blue, the visuals use curved band patterns with faded club crests, and Arsenal red glows through from behind as a nod to both sides of the derby. Players were cut out with Select Subject and refined in Select and Mask, then graded with a cool blue wash and contrast so they sit naturally in the scene, with grain added across the whole frame to tie everything together. Bold italic type, a lightning-cut “VS” and the Sky Sports lockup finish the set of three landscape visuals and four Instagram Stories.

Built in After Effects: & placed over real match footage, the score bar and scorecard react to a goal the way live broadcast graphics do. The score bar’s clock keeps ticking while a glowing “GOAL” punches in and blows out, then hands over to the updated AFC 2–2 CFC score. Alongside it, the goal-scorer card brings in a cut-out of Trevoh Chalobah breaking out of the frame, followed by his name and shirt number, all on a flowing blue-to-red texture that carries the derby palette through the whole package.
