Unstitched Stories: Tactile Narrative Systems
A BOOK OF MEMORY, FABRIC AND INTERACTIVE PRINT.

Brief:
My MA Final Major Project: a six-story interactive book that turns reading into an act of touch, discovery and reflection, rooted in real wartime letters from across history.
Idea: Each story is paired with a fabric chosen for its meaning: denim, polyester, cotton, linen, silk and nylon. Readers engage through sight, touch and movement.
Process: Six fabrics screen-printed (24 test prints), Braille laser-cut into wooden plates and embossed on an antique press, and six scanimations made in Midjourney, After Effects and Photoshop.
Outcome: Graded 77% (Distinction). The book was user-tested, refined and exhibited at the UCA Grade Show alongside wartime artefacts.
